2019’s edition of Comic-Con International: San Diego has given fans plenty of news to digest. Marvel unveiled its first LGBTQ hero; Tom Cruise surprised the audience with a special preview of Top Gun: Maverick; and all those final Game of Thrones season eight questions were answered. As the event grows bigger and bigger, its celebrity attendees have begun to use Comic-Con as an opportunity to show off looks direct from the runways. Sure, stars could easily appear onstage in merch from their favorite franchise and call it a day, but where’s the fun in that?
