“These past 18 months have been hard on businesses and we’re lucky to work in the e-commerce ecosystem where we’ve experienced a huge growth both in buyers and sellers,” said Daniel Biran, who serves as Business Development Manager at eBay, speaking at Calcalist’s E-commerce 360 conference.
Biran noted that people are transitioning to making purchases online when it comes to home necessities, collectibles, games, etc.
eBay has worked to partner with small-business owners who have opened seller accounts on its platform, with 16,000 new Israeli sellers joining eBay this past year alone. Although stores remained physically closed, eBay allowed them to offer their products for sale online at constant availability. “We see that trend continuing throughout 2021,” Biran said.
